"MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY
AWARD"
For "Repeated
Excellence" in furnishing the reader with useable documented
information on life in Early America.
To read this web site,
one feels as though they are standing at the center of a pre - 1820 St. Louis
trading post or they are preparing to report the daily happenings of the 18th
century. It seems you can find about anything you might need in the way of
research material or reference for your personal persona for on the trail or at
a settlement, as well as articles on period cookware, clothing, edibles, to
weapons. Mr. Conner has given us a much needed source for authentic early
American information and I encourage you to read as much of this important
research as he has reported, and do come back from time to time as he continues
to add additional findings.
Both James and myself
have used many of the references, as well as some of Mr. Conner's articles
when talking to an "Early American History" class at a local school or
college, recommending this site as a good starting point for those
interested, studying or wanting to research this important era in American
History. You may have seen his articles in "An Earlier Time" magazine,
"The Colonial Society" journal or other period literature.
Thank you Buck for all
the hard work, we'll check back on a regular bases for additional new material.
